Recipe of Margherita Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 8-10 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle.
  3. Place the dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet that has been lightly greased with olive oil.
  4. Spread the tomato sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Arrange the mozzarella cheese slices on top of the sauce.
  6. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil leaves.
  9. Drizzle with extra-virgin olive oil and serve hot.
