How to get your first 1000 followers

Getting followers is not as easy as people think, especially if you only have a few followers and have maintained the same numbers for quite a while. Now the question that most people ask is How can I get more followers but real followers.

There are a lot of YouTube videos, articles, and pricey online webinars that say they can help people get more followers on Instagram.

Some strategies will probably work, but there is a lot of scamming online; please be careful to do your research.

There are quite a few methods to get followers; one method which is very common online is buying followers, who are also referred to as fake followers.

Some companies or influencers buy followers to increase their audience.

Still, the only bad thing about this is that in most cases, these accounts are fake accounts, which will not bring any interactions, and if you are building an audience to create a brand or be an affiliate, these methods will not do you any good.

Or you can get a lucky break, and if you go viral, that can also boost your follower count, which can happen, and it has happened.

But if you want to go the organic way, let’s dive in on how you can get your first 1000 followers.

For this example, we will use Instagram.

So how do you start?
It can be hard to figure out where to start.

Tip 1. Interact with other accounts

Interacting with other accounts can be rewarding because people will start to notice you.

When you start interacting with other accounts and their followers, you grow organically.
There’s a good chance that if 10,000 people like this one guy’s content, they’ll like yours, too!

The only downside is that the process takes a long time.

Tip 2. Do your Research

Look for content that looks like what you want to post for 3 or 4 days. Then, comment on it and like it to show that you care about it.
Check accounts with similar content to what you want to post and a more significant following, like the person you found.
Instagram’s algorithm should be able to find similar content now that you’ve told it what you want to see.

  • Look at the quality of the posts.
  • What are they doing that is different?

Is there a way for them to give away things that ask for your email address or likes/comments?
Please note what they’re doing and use it as a guide when your account grows.

  • Use Hashtags
Take a look at their hashtags and write down the ones that they use.
If it’s a big account, you might not see any hashtags on the posts you see.
You might want to look at the first comment on the post. Some people put them there.
  • Check their entire post history.
  • Check to see all the hashtags they have used in all their posts
  • All of the hashtags should be copied. Then paste them into a Google Doc or your email notes.

  1. Find people who are interested in what you have to say.
My advice is to look at a little bigger account with 1400–5000 followers.
Follow all of the people that they are following, not just the people they follow.

Tip 3. Hashtags are your friends.

Use the hashtags the right way.
So now, you should be able to pick from a group of good, relevant hashtags.
This is what you’ll use for your next post.
Instagram’s best way to avoid being shadowbanned is not to use the same hashtags every day (even if larger accounts do it).
More significant accounts don’t usually need hashtags to get people to follow them.
For them, it’s mostly about getting attention.

Instagram runs on an algorithm that looks for high-quality content, engagement, and non-spammy practices.
Instagram is always looking for “robotic behavior with the new updates.” If you use the same hashtags every day, you could get a “dislike” from Instagram.

Tip 4. Attention is important

While you grow, we don’t want to keep your ratios too high.
Accounts with more followers than they’re following get much praise, attention, and brand deals.
When you want to get there, you need to find people who like the kind of content you’re making.

When you comment on posts, make sure you’re making good points.

Tip 5. Hard work is required

You’ll get what you put into this.
If you leave nasty comments, don’t expect people to be interested in your content.

If you don’t care about theirs, they won’t care about yours.

Make sure your comments are relevant and in some manner positive. Give your opinion but also add value to the post.

Try this for at least 30 days to start but don’t stop; keep going; you don’t want to stop at 1000; your hard work will pay off if you have a presence online.
After a few weeks of doing this, your engagement should be great, but your follower-to-following ratios will look a little crazy.

Tip 6. Clean up

So now you have to stop following spam accounts and people who didn’t follow you back.
You can always keep those accounts you want to follow.

It’s recommended to clean up those who are inaccurate or do not bring any value to your brand.

You can do this in multiple ways; you can go manually and unfollow or download third-party apps.

Tip 7. Execute

Now that you understand how to generate some followers, now it’s time to act.

Don’t wait or procrastinate; start your only journey now.

Best of luck.
